Silent G - The Logic

Forge me a staff with which I can summon the heavens
More than just the rains. More than just the winds,
Forge a staff which can bring the lightning to me,
and break my day-slumber with the din of souls in their accent.

Acid Rain Stick

On our recent research trip to the rain forest in Washington's Olympic Peninsula, we found much refuge in the persistent pattering of the famous Northwestern rain. It was quite easy, in that Eden of moss and vine, to forget the progress we as an industrialized people have made in squelching the wild chaos of nature as it blanketed us in a maternal cloak of aural bliss. Water on leaves dripping, birds and insects chirping, it was enough to spur a stick and tree trunk jam session. We vowed that upon returning to our stressful day-to-day lives we would, in the tradition of the great Juha'we shaman, build a rainstick to harness that calming power of nature, wielding it to feel empowered over our own turmoil. We built it with galvanized steel, hardened chain, and an 8 inch spike.

The Logic believes in a neat and orderly workspace. Every part must be catalogued and documented before their hidden music is unleashed.
Here Silent G, dressed like a pirate, is demonstrating the proper technique for bending a framing hanger around a bolt. The hangers provided an excellent surface for our ball bering, bottle cap, and finish nail filler.

Behold, the completed Acid Rain Stick. Silent G is shown here in the "Lightning Rod" posture. One of hundreds positions for playing the instrument.

After some technical difficulties, we were able to get this hi-fidelity recording.
