It goes without saying that the shiteasters appreciate variety in music, in fact, the more variation a song includes, the more powerful it becomes. But there must be order to this variation, it can’t take the form of movements, nor improvisation, nor sloppy genre mishmashes. Variety and variation, and thus value, must occur at a low level, changes must be rapid. Truly, the quality of music increases as the rate of its variations asymptotically approaches no variation at all. Varying your sound every verse is worthless. Varying your sound every measure is better, and every beat better still. Truly, the pinnacle of high-quality variation in musical composition is obtained via the square wave movement, via which variation is provided so quickly that the human mind cannot comprehend it. And sadly, the quality is likewise often imperceptible to all but the most refined tastes. A square wave is formed by the variation between two electrical states, and at extremely high rates of oscillation, this wave can be used to make a sound that sounds like a single note, a striped sonic top spinning at high speed, transcending its nature to become a note of purest quality. The perfect realization of ordered variation, we hold the square wave highest among musical forms, and deride all advances since as bastardizations of music’s nature. The Logic |
