Silent G - The Logic

"Don't get upset if you don't always do as well as you think you should. It's only a game. And use self-control in knowing when to put away the game and do your homework, talk to your friends or help your family with chores."
-User manual for Atari's Music Machine, 1983

"Only after one controls the media AND the means of playback can one truly claim to be in a commanding position."
- Yotsuki Hun Fujitzu

Throttleman

A quick assay experiment of an intuitive interface using outmoded technologies, the Throttleman employs an Atari 2600 joystick hooked up to the drive motor of an excised boombox tapedeck assembly. The joystick, through the miracle of electronics, controls the speed and volume of the tape playback while the buttons control tape spool direction and power. The usefulness of this contraption is perhaps diminished by the capabilities of digital audio, but its interface is supremely satisfying. It is to the iPod thumb wheel what a 44 Magnum is to Nintendo's light gun. We spent a few hours listening to old concert bootlegs and cranked out some dope remixes until they fell apart.

That's me in the kitchen cooking up something tastey.
I don't understand all you wireless fanatics. Look at how cool wires are!

You know the last couple terrifying lines Teddy Ruxpin speaks before his batteries die? Imagine a David Bowie bootleg with that kind of magic.

Here the Logic was yelling at me to give him a turn. I couldn't hear him over the Alvin and Chipmunks doing Nine Inch Nails' "Closer"

Gold mine.
