The Logic - Silent G Oh life giver, do not beat on me so. I am aware of your gift to
this world, and your capacity to take it back. I am aware of your
watchful gaze, your flaming crown. You hang ominously day in and day

returning in the morning with fury. The Photon Continuum is a new dimension, the dimension of interaction.
Photomaphone Photomaphone is a shrill square wave output biased by the intensity of light read by its photosensors. Technically just a line of tuned self-powered phototheremins, Photomaphone is the next major leap in musicianship and the flagship instrument of the Square Wave movement. We made the "keys" self-powered, removable modules for greater flexibility in using them for other applications. The Logic thought it best to work with seven notes, mirroring a common scale, but I thought 4 or 5 would accomplish the same effect. Photomaphone has seven notes. A truly unique instrument, Photomaphone can be played both laterally and vertically. Seven photo-theremin notes are arranged in a series, each tuned to a complimentary tonal step in relation to its neighbor. By casting light or shadow on the sensors, an individual note's pitch is altered, which allows for a spectacularly physical playing of the instrument. Ambient light is always played, meaning pitch darkness is silence and noon day sun is a squealing seven note assault. Hence, altering the ambient light alters the manner in which one plays Photomaphone. It can be played with handheld lamps in darkness or by casting shadows with opaque objects or variegated filters in a well lit room. Notes can be tuned with a screwdriver to fit the ambient light of a given surrounds. |
